The beast

The beast

WRITTEN BY ISAAC ODUGBEMI

In the prison of my heart
I locked the beast
I chained it with strong fetters
It is strong, black and hairy
It often struggles hoping to exercise it's nature
I keep an eye on it daily
I could hear the howling and growling
It is the opposite of myself
The beast
It is present though no one sees it
It tries to breakfree of the stronghold
And then I pin it down with my fist on the neck
After much struggle there comes submission
But then I know it is for a short time
Because I will go on and on tomorrow and the next
The beast is it's name
It's true name is Mr Flesh
