The Predator

The Predator

Written by Isaac Odugbemi

Can we be truly free
The world in two chapters of a dark book
The predator and the prey
The story unfolds
The powerful and the weakling
The rich and the poor
The intellectual workers and hard workers
The fed and the hungry
The potbellied and the flat bellied
The decision markers
The dictators
The wolf
Death lies in their palm
The laughterers and the mourners
Keep your eyes away for they are different
The same world but different planet
The lyrics are differently composed
"No food" one cries
"It's enough" one assures
God is the maker of them
One prays for long life
The other for money
The poor refusing to die
The merchant die at prime
Which is better?
Who is suffering if not my people
Who is rejoicing if not the raptors
The ones that pay obeisance to the scourging sun
The minority who throw away money
Neither the rain nor the sun stops their enterprise
The predator
They are what they eat
Fresh, beautiful and well fed
The worms in their bellies is Americana
The worms speak English, Spanish and Dutch
The worms feed on chinese rice and chicken
Kentucky, Republic and Tentalizing menu
Time is their focus
Change is their priority
The evening sun greets them at the bar
The weekend is at the club empire
The clothes, shoes and watches are names of someone
The predator
